Jazz Fantasia

To help us continue making a difference in the lives of children, the Boys & Girls Club Family Center is hosting Jazz Fantasia on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at the Museum of Springfield History. Experience the Harlem Renaissance with live jazz music, dinner, and live and silent auctions. Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion in their best 1920s outfits.

The club is seeking Gold Sponsors ($2,000) and Silver Sponsors ($1,000). We are proud to announce that PeoplesBank has already signed on as our Presenting Sponsor. Individual tickets are $100; reserve your tickets now!

Lead Teacher

The Boys & Girls Club Family Center in Springfield is seeking a full-time lead teacher for its preschool. Candidates must be hardworking, enthusiastic teaching professionals with a sound understanding of preschool curriculum and age appropriate programming. The lead teacher will design and implement curriculum, complete child assessments, maintain effective relationships with parents, attend trainings, continue education in the early childhood field, supervise an assistant teacher and foster grandparents. Minimum education: 36 months experience with a high school diploma, 9 months experience with a bachelor’s degree. Minimum three years experience in professional child care/education. Assistant Teacher

The Boys & Girls Club Family Center in Springfield is seeking a full-time assistant teacher for its preschool. Candidates must be hardworking and enthusiastic teaching professionals with a sound understanding of preschool curriculum and age appropriate programming. The position will involve teaching children 2.5 to 5 years, supervising foster grandparents and assisting the lead teacher with activity planning and classroom maintenance. Experience working with young children is a must. Some college credit in the education field is required.
